The Club started well, with play going through the impressive midfield. Liam and Levi were pulling the strings, with Gary & Deek linking up well.
The Club tool the lead midway through the half when Gary Goyer scored a peach of a goal- firing into the top corner of the net from around 30 yards. The Clubs Goal of the Season is going to be some competition.
The home side created more chances, and Derek Scheffler doubled the lead when he tapped home after Michael Quinn had cut back from a terrific Stephen pass.
There were further chances, however the Liberton 'keeper pulled off some great saves, particularly one on to the post when it looked like Goyer had added to his tally.
Liberton halved the defecit when Begbie gave away a penalty (which was possibly outside the bx) and the taker scored.
HT: 2-1
The second half was similar to the first, and the Club extended their lead when Michael Quinn was fouled in the box. Goyer stepped up but the keeper made a great save. The ref though decided that he had came off his line too soon and ordered a retake. Quinny took responsibility and hit a great penalty to the keepers right.
The fourth came after Scheffler went through. The keeper made another great save but was unlucky as the ball broke to Goyer who scored his second of the game.
After that, the game got crazy, with the home side missing chance after chance, including lots of 1 on 1's with the goalkeeper. Begbie could have had a couple, including one from an incredible 70 yard run.
It really could have been double figures.
Liberton were unlucky when they hit the bar from a great strike from fully 35 yards, but it was to be the home side's day.
Kenny said later: "That was a good result. I thought at times we played some good stuff, although we were poor too at times. We could have scored a lot of goals today, but the important thing was to bounce back from last week and we did that.
I've got to give special mention to Michael Quinn who was excellent today. He's had to bide his time and has never complained even when he's warmed the bench week after week. Today he cleared off his line, made a goal and took responsiblilty to take a great penalty at an important time.
That's the attitude we need from players.
Now we're looking forward to a good day out in the Scottish next week. Well done guys."

Dalkeith was the venue as The Club attempted to continue it's unbeated start to the league season. Salters have been around about the top of the league since day one, and are unbeated in all competitions so far, including having put the Club out of the DT Cup.
FCofE were without strikers Ozzy, Hammy, Ritchie & Gary Goyer, with top scorer Dean Shanks moving up front.
It was a scrappy start to the game with neither team really playing the football they are capible of, but it was the club who had the better chances. Deano should have did better with a near post shot, while Scheffler & Stephen also having efforts on goal.
Deano also felt he should have had a penalty when he was pushed from behind midway through the half, while Salters also had a claim turned down by referee Lamb.
Perhaps the best chance of the half fell to skipper John Quinn, who riffles a shot goalwards, from which John Padget in the Salters goal produced an amazing save, the best against The Club this season.
HT: 0-0
The Club played better in the second half, spending long periods at the Salters end. The midfield were winning their battles, and Scheffler & Deano were working their socks off up top.
Levi Stephen tested Padget with a well taken free kick- the 'keeper tipping over for a corner.
The defence was looking good (except when they tried to play too much football) and there was optimism on the away sidelines.
However The Club conceded a needless throw in inside their own half. It was played in long, flicked on and headed home by a Salters player. It was another poor goal for The Club to concead to Salters, who seem to benefit from cheap goals each time the teams meet.
The celebrations by the Salters players was again way over the top, and pehaps it's because they knew it was unbelievable tha they'd got in front.
The Club regained it's composure, pushed on and went looking for an equaliser: however it was Salters who sealed the points when a through ball caught out the Clubs' defence and the striker kept his composure to roll the ball past Smith.
Kenny said after the game: "I can't believe we haven't taken something from the game. I thought we were the better team even though we never played as well as we can. The ball just wouldn't drop for us, or we made the wrong decision in the final third. We had 2 or 3 really good chances in the first half and if one of them goes in it's game on.
It was frustrating that when we needed to, we couldn't change things due to last minute call offs. I can't fault the effort the guys put in, but we have to stop giving Salters easy goals.
I always look for positives, and if I'd been offered us not dropping points till November I'd have taken that. Remember, this is our first ever season, and we're improving all the time.
We're definitly not far behind teams like Salters, so from that point of view I'm optimistic.
We'll try to bouce back next week."

The club played it's first ever Scottish Cup tie against Premier Division Cross Keys.
It was amazing that the game went ahead after a weekend of torrential rain, and conditions were were difficult with strong winds sweeping across the heavy pitch.
It was not conditions for good football, but the club, playing with the wind at their backs created a few half chances, before going ahead midway through the half.
David Oswald was brought down in the box, and Dean Shanks stepped up. The normally deadly J-Lo hit a poor shot, which the 'keeper pushed out. However, Deano redeemed himself by bundling the ball over the line.
The second was a great team goal, with play starting with Stevie Gough in the left back position, being played through the midfield to the right side of the park where Liam Shanks did superbly well to pick out big brother Dean Shanks, who fired in, bringing his seasons tally to 9 goals- not a bad return for a midfielder.
The club had a let off when Cross Keys missed a penalty after Smith was adjudged to have pushed one of the home sides players at a corner, with the penalty being pulled wide.
HT: 0-2
The second half was scrappy, with Keys coming more into the match, and they should have halved the defecit when their striker somehow shot wide after Smith had made a good save.
As it was it was the club who scored the first goal of the second half, as Gary scored a debut goal after some good work by Ozzy. It was a goal he deserved after an impressive first outing, and there'll be more to come from the former Peterhead striker.
Cross Keys felt they had gotten back into the match when they scored a screamer which Smith didnt even bother trying to save. There was no point as the strike flew into the top corner at great speed.
While the Club maybe got a bit nervous, they were still looking to attack at every opportunity, with Levi Stephen again pulling the strings in midfield.
The fourth and final goal came with a couple of minutes to go when John Quinn slotted home, securing the club an away trip to East Kilbride to face Glasgow AFA side Springhall AFC.
Kenny Cameron said after the match: "The goal was to get through so that we could enjoy a day out, and thats what we did. Although we weren't at our best, we were the better team an desearved to win. The attitude of the guys was superb and at times we played some good stuff.
When we passed the ball we cut them open and their keeper made some good blocks and saves.
The second half was always going to be difficult but I thought that we again were the better side, and our midfielders created things for our strikers.
We'll now look forward to a day out in November."
The rearranged match between The Club and Salters took place in terrible weather conditions at Craigroyston.
Salters started the better side and took the lead early on when some poor play at the back allowed Paul Nelson an easy tap in.
The club came back into the game though and Dean Shanks (pictured) scored a contender for goal of the season when he volleyed into the top corner from around 17 yards from an impressive Levi Stephen cross. It really was a superb goal.
In truth this was a poor as we have ever played, and we didn't create too many chances. The passing was poor and the first touch wasn't there.
Quinny, in goal for the missing Smith, made a couple of good saves, as we struggled to get into any sort of rythm.
HT 1-1
The second half was slightly better from the clubs' point of view, and we took the lead midway through the half when Levi Stephen, who was making an impressive debut, scored a fantastic chip over the Salters keeper. It took a small deflection but that shouldn't take away from the quality of the execution from the former Rangers player.
The Club was looking secure at this point, however Salters got back on terms when they scored from a corner. It was dissapointing as the big centre half, Mikey Jones had a free header, although the delivery was very good.
The club almost went back ahead straight away when another superb pass by Stephen was picked up by Freddie Brunt. He got inside his marker before shooting for the far corner. However unluckily for him and the club, his effort hit the far post and bounced out.
Salters went ahead soon after when a good ball into the box was headed home by Nelson again, sending the away side mental.
As the club tried to push forward Salters scored a fourth, when Neil Wilson fired into the bottom corner with a couple of minutes to go.
Kenny Cameron said "I'm really frustrated. We gifted them their first two goals, while that's as poor as we've played all season. We normally get the ball down and pass it but today that just didnt happen.
We scored two superb goals, but to be honest I didn't think we were up for the game like we should have been.
When you're 8 minutes from time and your winning 2-1 you shouldnt lose the match.
Fair play to Salters, I hope they do well in the competition."

The visit of Newton Heath AFC was a game which the Club had been looking forward to, and what a match it was. This was a game between two teams who like to get the ball down and play football, and it was a credit to Su
nday football.
(Left- Home dressing room pre match)Heath are a very good side- the best the club has come up against so far in any competition, and it was they who kept the ball well and set the early tempo of the match.
However, the blues were well up for the game and competed well, and it was the home team who had the best of the chances, with Oswald & Scheffler going close a couple of times each. 'Ozzy' as usual, was causing the Heath defense all sorts of bother, and he was unlucky not to get his team a penalty half way through the first half when he was brought down on the line of the 18 yard box ( a penalty according to the laws of the game).
The referee, Findlay, pointed to the spot before changing his mind and awarding a direct free kick, which hit the wall.
Heath continued to play some excellent stuff, but The Club were well in the match as the first half came to a close. It's worth noting that Smith in the Clubs goal didn hav a save to make.
HT 0-0
The second half was possibly even better than the first in terms of quality, and again it was the home side who made the best chances.
Sceffler went close after he made an opportunity for himself.
The whole of The Clubs' team were running their socks off, with the defense looking as solid as it's ever looked, and the midfield, and Dean Shanks in particular, working hard, making tackles and pressing the game.
Scheffler was replaced by Alex Collop, with Dean Shanks moving to centre forward- and the move paid off within 2 mins as 'Ozzy' again caused Heath problems, driving into the box before showing great determination to lay the ball back to J-Lo who fired into the net from 10 yards.
'Ozzy' then missed a great chance to make it two when he was put through on the keeper by a great through ball from Liam Shanks, however the striker had possibly listened too much to his manager and shot wide when he could possibly have gone around the 'keeper.
It was to get better 10 mins later when John Quinn drove nto the box only to be brought down by Heath no. 8 Tams, who had been superb all day.
Dean Shanks stepped up and converted superbly to add to his tally, and repeat his penaly scoring from the week before.
It was to the The Clubs' and Dean Shanks day when the midfielder come striker ran through on goal before rounding the 'keeper to make it three, much to the delight of the home bench..jpg)
Heath had a couple of chance near the end, with Smith making a great save at his near top corner, and they had a header go over from a corner.
Picture: Stevie Gough is delighted after the win, and thank God for boxer shorts!
Kenny Cameron said:"I'm delighted. This is a huge win. Everyone is tipping Heath for the title- and they are the best team we've played. They will be there or there about at the end of the season. However each and every one of the guys, from Shaun in goal to Deek and Ozzy up top worked their absolute socks off.Dean Shanks is in agony and can't move as he's never run so much in his life. However it's not about individuals, as they all gave everything. We defended well, and as a team. And that's what we are- a team. They play great football, but they only had a couple of chances at the end. It goes to show how well we worked as a team that they didnt score- and they've averaged 9 goals a game until today."

The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh looked forward to getting back into action after going out of the KC Cup at the hands of Pentland Road House the previous week.
Gorgie AFC are an established club in the assosiation, and they started the game well, as did the away team.
The Club took the lead when Aaron Sherazee, making his first start for the club, riffled in a right foot shot. David Oswald, on a high after his hat trick the week before, made it two, reacting first after Hamilton, who had earlier had what looked a clear penalty turned down, had shown great bravery to get the ball back across goal. The injury he picked up was to bring his afternoon to an early end, with him being replaced by Cameron.
The third was to arrive shortley after, with Dean Shanks converting a penalty kick, after Ozzy had been felled in the box.
HT 0-3
The second half continued as the first ended, with FCofE on top. Ozzy got his second of the game, slaming home a great finish from a Leask free kick.
John Quinn, the Captain for the day, got his goal tally off the mark when he put in an easy finish after the Gorgie 'keeper dropped the ball off the post.
Gorgie got a goal, however it was little more than a consolation, as Cameron headed home the blue's 6th of the game from a Liam Shanks corner.
Leask then got in on the act, supporting a counter attack superbly to nod in from Cameron's cross.
The scoring was compleated when Ozzy finished off his mazy run. It was his second hat trick in a week, and took his tally for the season to 7.
Kenny Cameron said later: "I'm delighted that the boys got back to winning ways after the cup defeat. The attitude was spot on and we talked before the game about imposing our good style of football on the game.
Next week we have possibly our toughest game so far when we entertain Newton Heath, and we'll have to play to our absolute best to tak something from the game."
The club played it's first away fixture of the season on the new 3G pitch at Saughton, and after all the recent call off, it was a relief to finally get to get a game.
The Club was missing hat trick hero Stephen Hamilton, striker Ozzy and captain Begbie due to work commitments.
As it was, Pentland took the lead after some poor defending let in the PT striker. Smith in the clubs goal was lucky to only recieve a yellow card when he pulled the attacker down. The penalty was converted and Pentland found themselves a goal to the good.
FCofE is full of confidence however, and were on terms within a minute when debutant Cameron Clark smashed home from a few yards out.
The same player put the club ahead when he tapped in at the back post after good work from man of the match and captain for the day John Quinn..jpg)
It was 3-nil soon after when Quinn again did well releasing Scheffler in the box. He was felled, dusted himself down and placed the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the net.
Amir Tabrizi, right then got in on the act, slotting past the keeper to give the club a comfortable half time lead.
HT- 4-1
The second half was totally dominated by the side in the Argentina style strips. The tired Tabrizi was replaced by debutant Tiaoch and he made a good impression.
Scheffler scored again, finishing well after some good control got him away from his defender, then Dean Shanks (below) helped himself to a brace with a couple of close range finishes.
Tiaoch, who had missed a couple of chances, then scored an excellent header after Quinn and Clark had combined well on the left.
Scheffler completed his hat trick with 7 mins to go when he tapped in a simple finish after centre half Leask had wandered into the opponents box and put it on a plate.
Manager Kenny Cameron said after the match " I'm absolutley delighted. I thought we were the better team from the off and told the players at half time that I thought we could be better. We were a bit casual in defence at first but once we got going, our commitment and effort allowed our skill to show. Thats 2 wins out of 2 now with 16 scored and only a penalty conceded, so we have to be happy with the start we've made, although we wont be getting carried away."

The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh went into their first ever league match against local rivals Silverknowes Star. It was a fixture both sets of players had really been looking forward to, with a number of FCofE players having turned out for Star at the beginning of last season.
The game was moved to Craigroyston after Silverknowes was ridiculously called off aparently due to the weather.
It wasnt long before the club took total control of the match, with the midfield totally dominating and the pacey Oswald running the Star defence ragged.
The club deservidly took the lead when Hamilton slotted home a penalty after Oswald was felled in the box. It was the clubs first ever league goal and came as a huge relief to the squad.
Now the confidence was flowing, and the club made it 2- nil when Dean shanks delivered a dangerous free kick into the box, which Quinn did well to turn back across goal for Hamilton to net his second of the afternoon.
The third goal came via the penalty spot again as Star Captain Brown brought down Oswald, who the Star defence just couldnt cope with. Brown was ordered off for apparently swearing at the referee.
Hamilton completed his hat trick by slamming the ball home.
Derek Scheffler then got in on the act when he vollied in a Dean Shanks corner, before Liam Shanks completed the first half scoring when he, and not the already hat trick scoring Hamilton took and scored the clubs 3rd penalty of the half!
It is worth noting that it would have been even more of a lead had it not been for the outstanding Star 'keeper.
HT 5-0
The second half was never going to be as good as the first, but the club was still the dominant team.
Oswald finally got the goal his excellent play deserved when he scored with a looping header over the keeper.
It was then the turn of Beagley to find the net, scoring a superb header from a corner (above). Beagley enjoyed he moment as the Star 'keeper had been telling Beags how poor a player he was!
John Quinn had a goal chalked off for offside, while Smith in the clubs goal was a little busier, saving a free kick and taking a few crosses.
Manager Kenny Cameron said after the match "You have to be happy with that. I was a little worried before the game after our pre season was literally washed out. However we played well and totally dominated the game. It was great that a few of the guys got off the mark in terms of goals too. The second half was poor from our point of view, but the game was over by half time and I really have to give credit to the players. We now look forward to the visit of Duddingston, who beat us 1- nil in pre season, and we're ready for what will be a really tough game against a good team.
FT 7-0

The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh took to the field for their first pre season fixture against Duddingston Athletic AFC at Edinburgh Academy looking for a good start in their preperations for the new season.
As it was the club started very well, keeping the ball and playing some nice, short passes on the excellent, if somewhat wet surface.
Both teams were well organised, and had half chances during the first half, with Duddy hitting the bar whilst The Club had a number of free kicks and corners wasted.
An injury to the influential Liam Shanks disrupted The Clubs play slightly and they were soon a goal down just before half time. An excellent passing move, involving lots of one touch play down the Duddy left resulted in David Bailey opening the scoring with a fine finish. It was a fantastic team goal.
HT 1:0
The second half was slightly scrappier, possibly due to the torrential rain, however there was still some good stuff played by both sides.
The introduction of Jamie Adamson and Amir Tabrizi added new life to the Clubs attacks and Adamson was unlucky on at least 3 occasions, particularly with a free kick which dropped just wide of the upright.
There was also a strong penalty shout turned down by referee Scott Stewart when John Quinn was felled in the box, however it was not to be.
On the whole this was a good work out for The Club, and while we realise that there are things to be worked on it is clear that we are putting together a decent squad and will hold our own in the league.
Manager Kenny Cameron said after the game- "Although we'd have liked to have won the game, it was definitly worth while and we played well in spells against an established league side. We will train hard over the next few weeks and continue to give guys a chance to impress whilst trying different things. Some of the boys showed up really well, and for our first game, and with no real training as yet, we did ok. We'll now look ahead to our game against Salters next week which will be another good test."
His view was echoed by Duddy Secretary Derek Lambie who said "The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh will cause problems this year with time and games under their belts."

The Foot Ball Club of Edinburgh were narrowly beaten at Tynecastle in front of more than 500 supporters.
The Worlds First Football Club set the early tempo, with Byrne having a few half chances and deservidly went ahead after 13 minutes when Cameron scored a diving header from a superb Byrne cross.
Both teams tried to play good, attacking football, and it is a credit to them that there was hardly any long ball play.
As it was McCrae's began to force themselves back into the match, playing some nice stuff, and both teams had chances.
Martin in goal for the Club looked smart to tip over a fierce drive by a McCrae's attacker.
The McCrae's managed to pull level just before half time, when their attacker reacted strongest at a corner kick. The Club were disapointed to lose a soft goal and go into the interval all square.
HT 1-1
The second half was a little scrappier than the first, and the never ending rolling substitutions of the McCrae's team meant little consistancy in play.
They managed to get in front after some nice play down their left resulted in a fantastic dlivery into the box to allow a simple finish for the striker.
Not long after and it was 3-2, with Martin unlucky to see his save bundled in at the second attempt.
At this stage McCrae's were looking fresher, and they could have extended their lead if not for two truly world class stops from inspired 'keeper Mark Martin.
However, the fight and will to win in the FCofE side was eveident and they would not give up.
A long kick out by the keeper was flicked on superbly by Byrne into the path of Cameron, who under pressure from two defenders, managed to blast the ball into the bottom corner on the volley.
It was game on, however McCrae's managed to hold out for their victory.
The club may have lost out in this game but can take great credit that they played so well, having been put together by players who payed for the privelage of representing the club in this historic match, with all money raised going to the Forth 1 Cash for Kids.
Manager Kenny Cameron said "I'm proud of the guys today. Everyone worked their socks off, and when you consider we had guys playing who hadn't played in years then it really was a great effort. This is not our amateur team but guys who've come together on the day to raise money for local kids, and thats what we're all about.
I think the fact they (McCrae's) rolled their subs was telling as my men were running on empty at the end.
However I cannot fault the guys for anything, and I'd like to say 'thanks' to them"
